Characterization of heritage tourism
Main Article Content
Abstract
This theoretical article presents two perspectives on how to understand heritage tourism. Its characterization, following the line that defines it as a tourism in which the visited and the visitors share the cultural heritage of the destination, is the subject under discussion. Tourism activity at a global level is experiencing the worst moment in its history, which is why it is necessary to explore alternatives that allow a viable and sustainable reactivation. Consequently, and due to its characteristics, heritage tourism
could be a means to promote domestic tourism, which will be reactivated with greater dynamism than international tourism.
