Open access policies
Adherence to International Declarations
The journal Cultura is based on the principle that open and open access to scientific production fosters a more inclusive and enriching global exchange of knowledge. For this reason, all articles it publishes are available without embargo restrictions or fees, both for authors and readers. Faithful to this approach, the journal is firmly committed to the values expressed in the following international declarations:
- San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA).
- Budapest Declaration on Open Access.
- Singapore Declaration on Research Integrity.
- Cape Town Open Education Declaration (CPT+10).
- CRediT Taxonomy of Contributing Roles in Authorship.
In accordance with these principles, published content may be freely downloaded, read, reused, stored, copied, printed, and searched, provided that the following conditions are met:
- Do not use for commercial purposes.
- Do not create derivative works based on the materials.
- Credit should be given to the original source and authors.
Open Access Policies
The journal maintains a full open access policy, meaning that all published articles are freely and immediately available in their full version. There are no subscription fees or access restrictions for readers. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication under theCreative Commons Attribution (CC BY) Licensewhich permits use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided that the original authorship is properly acknowledged.
Use of generative artificial intelligence
The journal allows the responsible use of generative artificial intelligence tools during the writing and analysis process of manuscripts, provided that this is explicitly stated in theDeclaration on the Use of Large Language Model (LLM) section.
Open Science Compliance
The journal promotes Open Science best practices through a Compliance Form, which serves to inform and guide authors on the fundamental principles of open access, data availability, transparency in methodology and other topics related to open scientific communication.
Open Data
The journal CULTURA promotes transparency and reproducibility in research, giving authors the option to share databases linked to their published studies. These data will be accessible through the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS). This initiative aims to promote scientific collaboration by facilitating access to data for other researchers to validate, replicate, and expand the results obtained. This seeks to strengthen the robustness and reliability of the research.
Interoperability Policies
To optimize the collection, indexing, and dissemination of its content, Cultura uses the OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative – Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) protocol in its 2.0 version. This protocol allows automated access to metadata by scientific portals and aggregation services. The address available to collectors is: https://revistacultura.org/index.php/cultura/es/index/oi
The journal operates on the Open Journal Systems platform in version 3.5.0.1, which has the following interoperability modules activated:
- Dublin Core Metadata. Ensures compatibility with various information management tools through standardized templates.
- Dublin Core indexing module. Facilitates automatic indexing of articles using meta tags.
- DC metadata format. Structures metadata according to the defined Dublin Core schema for efficient organization.
Data Sharing and Reproducibility Policies
The journal CULTURA promotes scientific transparency through policies designed to promote open data, ensure the traceability of methods, and support the replicability of published studies.
Open data access.-Researchers are encouraged to share their data openly whenever possible, to facilitate the validation, reuse, and reproduction of their results.
Deposit in repositories.-All accepted articles are deposited in the institutional repository of the Universidad San Martín de Porres, ensuring long-term digital preservation. The repository complies with international interoperability and open access standards, facilitating global visibility and indexing in academic databases.
Policies on the use of digital object identifiers
Articles accepted and published in CULTURA have a persistent digital identifier (DOI), which ensures their location, citation and long-term access:https://doi.org/10.24265/cultura
The DOI ensures traceability, facilitates correct citation and guarantees the permanence of the link to the contents, complying with the international standards promoted by CrossRef.
Technology Leverage and User Value Policy
The journal incorporates innovative technologies to optimize the reader and author experience, including the use of interactive readers, alternative metrics (altmetrics), and citation management tools. It also offers complementary services such as graphical data visualization and links to related external resources, with the aim of maximizing the impact and usability of the published content.
Repository Policy
All accepted articles are deposited in the institutional repository of the Universidad San Martín de Porres, ensuring long-term digital preservation. The repository complies with international interoperability and open access standards, facilitating global visibility and indexing in academic databases.
