Association of Teacher of the University of San Martín de Porrse
As a result of meetings held by a group of professors concerned about the academic and institutional progress of the University of San Martín de Porres, the decision was made to establish an organization that would give its analyses and proposals an organic character. Thus, in 1972, it was registered in the Public Registry of Lima under the name of the Teachers' Association. Its first Board of Directors was composed of Professors Hugo Ramón Chávez, President; Oscar Rodríguez Cáceres, Secretary of Press and Propaganda; and Julio Mayca Baca, Secretary of Organization.
Félix Romero Villacorta and César Cárdenas Cruzado then served as President, and Professor Johan Leuridan Huys, O.P., was elected President in 1981. In 1983, the institution's bylaws were amended, adopting the name of the Teachers' Association of the Private University of San Martín de Porres, and it was registered under file No. 327 in the Registry of Legal Entities of Lima. Its fifth article establishes the Association's purposes:
To safeguard the validity of the principles that constitute the very essence of the Peruvian University.
To encourage the development and specialization of its members.
To contribute to the development of the university by raising its academic standards.
In 2007, its statutes were last amended, adopting the name of the Association of Teachers of the University of San Martín de Porres. The General Assembly of Associates, held on October 6, 2007, elected the Board of Directors. The Board was registered with the National Superintendency of Public Registries under Registration No. 017808-40. The Board is composed as follows:
